I love a good list

I am someone who enjoys a good list, and I mean a proper one. I like the ones that are made by using pen and paper, not typing. I don’t know why, but I just find the actual act of writing something down physically with a writing implement, works far better for my mental state. It truly feels as though it has left my brain and I don’t have to think about it any more. Which is quite ironic, because I am about to write a list in this blog post, which of course is done by typing.

For a while now I have been wanting to write a blog post that just consists of a list. they are one of my favourite types of blogging material to read, but in actual fact, I am quite rubbish at writing them. “Hang on”, I hear you say. “I swear you just told us you love a good list?” Well, yes I do, but the type of list I am good at writing is a to-do list. I am not very good at writing a ‘top 10’ list, because as I have pointed out several times now, I don’t have a hobby, or a main passion, and that actually makes it hard to make a list because I am not an expert in anything which makes it hard to have a top 10 list, because I quite often, don’t even have a top 3 when it comes to a lot of things.

Lots of people write lists about top films, top places to visit in London, top holiday destinations, top eye shadow brands, you get the gist, but that more often than not, is because they are following their blogs ‘brand’. Well, considering this blog doesn’t have a particular brand it follows, that makes it a bit harder. But then I thought, there is something I could quite easily write a ‘Top 10’ list about… ‘My top 10 ways to procrastinate’ now if that isn’t ‘on brand’ then I don’t know what is!

Anyway, on with the list….. (how many times can I write the word ‘list’ in one blog post for goodness sake!?).

My top 10 go to procrastination activities.

  1. Scroll social media- who doesn’t love a good scroll?
  2. Delete all the notifications your apps have on your phone
  3. Play ‘words with friends’
  4. Read pointless daily mail articles
  5. Facebook stalk people you don’t know, and look through all of their family holiday albums they have uploaded in the last 10 years.
  6. Play with my hair
  7. Check social media again
  8. ‘Organise a room’ by simply moving a pile of stuff from one side of the room to the other – obvs.
  9. Throw away all of the receipts that have built up in my purse over the last month.
  10. Check social media again.

Yes, social media, does appear on their 3 times, and that was actually holding back, because I know for a FACT that I spend and obscene amount of time on my phone! There are plenty more ways to procrastinate, but these are genuinely the things I do the most. Sometimes even my blog is a way of procrastinating. I mean, who wants to ring up the car insurers when I could so easily just ramble on about the fact that I don’t want to ring the car insurers on this blog?!

Let me know what you do to procrastinate, although, that could be dangerous, because it will just give me more ideas…
